Grade A
Grade A items are in outstanding second-hand condition. These pieces show little to no signs of wear and could easily pass as new when worn.
What this usually means:
- Fabric is in excellent shape with no thinning or damage
- No holes, tears, or functional issues
- Waterproofs/down items fully lofted and performing as they should
- Logos, zips, cuffs, and seams all in great condition
- Any wear is purely minimal and cosmetic (if present at all)
Grade B
Grade B items have clearly been used and loved, but they’re still in solid condition and ready to perform. This is the sweet spot for a lot of second-hand outdoor gear.
What this usually means:
- Light to moderate cosmetic wear (small marks, slight fading, gentle fabric wear)
- No major damage
- All zips, fastenings, and key functions working properly
- Waterproofs and insulation still doing their job
- Any minor flaws will always be clearly photographed and mentioned
Grade C
Grade C items show clear signs of use. These are pieces that may have visible wear, cosmetic flaws, or past repairs — but are still functional and suitable for outdoor use.
What this usually means:
- Visible wear such as scuffs, heavier fading, or fabric wear
- Possible professional or in-house repairs
- Older items or well-used pieces
- All major issues will always be shown and described clearly
